Detriot Tigers Information

The Detroit Tigers joined the Major League Baseball in 1901, finishing a strong inaugural year with a solid 74-62 winning record to put them in 3rd place overall. With this amazing start to their franchise, the Tigers have continued to prove themselves as a contender in whatever area they are challenged. The Tigers received their name from the black and orange stripped socks which resemble the color of a tiger. The Detroit Tigers currently play at Comerica Park, where they have played since 2000. The Tigers have had the success of hosting twenty Hall-of-Famers on the team, including outfielder Ty Cobb and second-baseman Charlie Gehringer. The Detroit Tigers' franchise victories include four World Series Championships in ten World Series appearances, ten American League pennants, four LCS appearances, and three division titles.

The Detroit Tigers are off to a relatively slow start this season. They currently have a 32-38 record, putting them in the #4 spot in the American League Central division. The only explanation for this slow start is that the Tigers are lacking chemistry and cohesiveness with all these superstars on their line-up. The Detroit Tigers have nine All-Stars on the team, of which four of them have won the Gold Glove Award and five of them have won the Silver Slugger Award. This incredible roster includes legendary pitcher Kenny Rogers and former MVP catcher/slugger Ivan Rodriguez. Rodriguez is definitely a future Hall-of-Famer, being a 14-time All-Star selection, a 13-time Gold Glove Award winner, and a 7-time Silver Slugger Award winner on top of winning the MVP award in 1999. Tickets are selling fast to see the talent on the roster, wondering why all these All-Stars can't seem to pull a winning season together. Look for a turnaround in the rest of the season and a resulting increase in ticket sales when this team decides to get it together towards the playoffs and winning another World Series Championship.
